Here are links to organisations who supported Binfield’s first Eco Week:

  • All Saints’ with St Mark’s Churches, Binfield (https://www.binfieldcofechurches.org.uk/) – The driving force behind Eco Week and a genuinely lovely community of people.

  • Arocha (https://arocha.org.uk/) – An organisation that provides support, including environmental resources, to the church community.

  • Berks and South Bucks Bat Group (http://berksbats.org.uk/) - A group of volunteers working to help bats across Berkshire and south Buckinghamshire. Their key activities include: recording and monitoring bat populations in our area; carrying out conservation projects such as bat box schemes, improving roost sites and developing potential sites; organising talks and educational events throughout the year; and rescuing and rehabilitating grounded or injured bats.

  • Binfield Badger Group (https://www.binfieldbadgers.org.uk/) work to protect badgers across the whole of Berkshire and to spread awareness about badgers to adults and children alike.

  • Binfield Environment Group (https://binfieldeg.wixsite.com/binfieldeg) - a group of volunteers who care about the local environment and want to help improve it. We run regular events throughout the year in and around Binfield, to which all members of the community are welcome.

  • Bisham Nestbox Group (https://www.bnbg.org.uk/) - a volunteer group making nest boxes for garden birds, owls, raptors, swifts, hedgehogs, bats and bees.  They just ask for a donation to cover the cost of the materials.

  • Binfield Parish Council (https://www.binfieldparishcouncil.gov.uk/) – In addition to managing some of the greenspaces around Binfield, BPC provided support for Eco Week.

  • Binfield Womens’ Institute – the WI Environment Group survey and care for Foxley Fields and helped shape and support Eco Week

  • Bracknell Forest Council Rangers (https://www.bracknell-forest.gov.uk/parks-and-countryside) – manage some of the larger greenspaces around Binfield.

  • Bright Horizons (https://www.brighthorizons.co.uk/our-nurseries/bracknell-day-nursery-and-preschool) – a local Eco School whose pupils and teachers are enthusiastic about Binfield’s nature.

  • Butterfly Conservation (https://butterfly-conservation.org/) - Butterfly Conservation has raised awareness of the drastic decline in butterflies and moths, and created widespread acceptance that action needs to be taken. Through their conservation work, they have also begun to reverse the decline of several of the UK’s most threatened species. Our local branch are looking for volunteers to help with surveying and other aspects of their work - https://www.upperthames-butterflies.org.uk/

  • The Foxes’ Den (https://foxesden.co.uk/) – Binfield’s community coffee shop that also offers a range of activities throughout the week for all ages.  Profits from the shop are given to the local community.

  • Involve (https://involve.community/) - Involve Community Services is a small, local charity which supports the voluntary and community sector (VCS) in Bracknell, Wokingham and the surrounding areas.

  • Mini Nature Artists (https://www.mininatureartists.com/mini-artists) – A local artist and her team offer bespoke nursery and school classes, family workshops, team-building events, and parties, which combine the beauty of nature and art.

  • RSPB (https://www.rspb.org.uk/) – The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds is one of the largest conservation charities in the world doing amazing work to understand and mitigate the pressures that nature is facing in the UK and overseas. Our local RSPB group (https://group.rspb.org.uk/wokinghamandbracknell/about-us/) run walks, talks and trips throughout the year.

  • Warfield Environment Group (https://warfieldenvgroup.wordpress.com/) – A group of volunteers in our neighbouring parish carry out conservation works, hedge and flower planting, litter picks, surveys and walks.  (At the time of writing, their Facebook page is more up to date than their webpage).

  • Woodland Trust (https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/) – The Woodland Trust create, protect and restore woods and trees throughout the UK.  They have provided support to schools and community groups in our area.
